Tangled ArtZ's Curated pieces

---

Allen Redfearn

Not every piece begins with a sketch. Some begin with a conversation, a board selected for its grain, or a design waiting patiently within the wood itself.

Allen Redfearn's work is rooted in craftsmanship, patience, and a deep appreciation for functional art. Drawing from traditional woodworking techniques and a lifelong respect for handmade objects, he creates pieces that balance utility with character. Each work is approached with careful attention to form, structure, and the natural beauty of the materials used.

His creations range from handcrafted chessboards and decorative displays to custom-built furnishings and one-of-a-kind commissioned works. Whether designed as a functional object or a statement piece, every project is built with the belief that well-made things should be both useful and lasting.

As a featured artisan within Tangled ArtZ, Allen's work represents a shared commitment to craftsmanship, creativity, and the enduring value of handmade objects. These curated pieces are offered in limited quantities and reflect the same dedication to quality and authenticity found throughout the Tangled ArtZ collection.

More than a game board, these handcrafted chess works are functional works of art designed to be displayed, admired, and played. Built by hand with careful attention to proportion, balance, and craftsmanship, each piece transforms the traditional chessboard into a sculptural object worthy of permanent display.

Many designs feature vertical presentation, allowing the board to serve as both strategic game and wall-mounted artwork. Constructed from quality hardwoods and thoughtfully selected materials, every chess work reflects patience, precision, and a respect for timeless design.

Created in limited quantities, no two pieces are exactly alike. Each carries the character of the materials, the marks of hand craftsmanship, and the belief that objects made to last should be both beautiful and useful.

Whether displayed in a study, library, office, or living space, these chess works invite both contemplation and play—celebrating strategy, artistry, and the enduring appeal of the game itself.

Built with purpose and designed to be used, these handcrafted works celebrate the enduring value of traditional craftsmanship. Created by Allen Redfearn, each piece reflects a commitment to quality materials, thoughtful design, and the belief that useful objects should also possess character and beauty.

The collection includes handcrafted games, ring-and-hook boards, domino sets, elevated feeding stations, benches, shelving, frames, planters, patio pieces, and other custom woodcrafts. Whether intended for family gatherings, everyday living, outdoor spaces, or decorative display, every piece is designed to serve a purpose while adding warmth and authenticity to its surroundings.

Rather than mass-produced goods, these are individually crafted works that carry the unique character of the wood itself. Variations in grain, texture, and finish ensure that no two pieces are exactly alike.

Built to be enjoyed, shared, and passed forward, these pieces honor the traditions of craftsmanship while finding their place in modern homes and gathering spaces.

Some pieces are discovered. Others are built around an idea, a space, a story, or a purpose.
